Never Write It Alone.
Educate. Create. Empower.
Share your knowledge, experience, and story with those who need it most.
All of our writing is based on a
Trauma-Informed Approach
Two out of three children experience trauma before the age of 18, and at least 70% of adults experience a traumatic event in their lifetime.
Being trauma-informed means recognizing people are more likely than not to have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime.
We believe in leading with empathy, and asking, “What happened to you?” instead of “What’s wrong with you?”
Trauma-informed practices are good practices for everyone, regardless of age, race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or genetic information.
What is Trauma-Informed?
Collaborative Ghostwriting
Writing a book alone can be challenging even for the most seasoned writers. By engaging in collaborative ghostwriting, you can get the support you need from start to finish, or we can jump in at any point in the book-writing process. By transforming your life experiences into a memoir, you can share your unique life story and empower those who need it the most.
Our trauma-informed approach will help you to feel comfortable enough to dive into the subconscious mind and uncover the experiences you’ve been wanting to share with your audience.
Curriculum Development
Education is the door to success. You are the expert in your field and possess unique knowledge. By turning your knowledge into a course curriculum, you can educate and empower your audience to achieve success through guided lessons. Whether you are teaching a full course or a single day of training, we can help you develop your content for all learning environments whether it is in-person, a live webinar, prerecorded content, or a combination of those.
Our trauma-informed approach will make your curriculum easily accessible and engaging to all audiences.
As the founder of Writing Outside the Lines NYC, Marissa Blose is a trauma-informed ghostwriter and educator. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from The New School in NYC. After graduating, she spent six years working in nonprofit education where she learned how to develop curricula for students in grades K-12. Several of her social-emotional learning (SEL) curricula are currently being implemented in NYC public schools. Inspired by the many students she has worked with who experienced trauma, she completed her MEd in Trauma-Informed Education in 2022 and has since combined her passions for writing, education, and trauma healing into the work she does every day.
Marissa has publications in Natural Awakenings Magazine, received an honorable mention for the Paul Violi Prize in poetry, and published her first book titled The Fix, where she explores the memories of past traumas as tools for self-discovery.
